So as nW/BK takes it's final breaths I thought it'd be interesting to talk about how we came to discover this once magnificent place and how it's influenced us.

I was in 8th grade at the time which would take the year back to 2006. I was somewhat of a noob who frequently went on the official nintendo forums to do pokemon trades (Using Friend codes which wasn't allowed at the time ;) ) and lo and behold I get a message in my inbox from none other then a Mugiwara Mushroomboy (Or whatever Mush's name was back then) who sent me a link to nWarriors. I decided to check it out and was an active member since (with one 6 or so month long break).

nWarriors has done a few things for me, more specifically two. The first being, it made me not a complete imbecile in terms of internet etiquette savyness. Before joining nWarriors, the nintendo forums were the only online forum I participated in and being only 12-13 I wasn't really aware of how things worked and I acted like a 12-13 year old.

The other thing was getting me into graphic design. This is mostly thanks to Curly and to a lesser extent, David/Chyo. I remember one of my first threads on here was asking Curly to make me a signature of Vaporeon for me, to which he declined. Thereby I decided to make one myself using Gimp, it was horrible. However everyone on here gave me feedback and I slowly got better to the point where I get requests on other web forums quite often. I remember myself and Chyo working expediently, competing against each other to further our skills (At one point I remember having a new sig a day). Making all these sets were very enjoyable to me and since then I've expanded what I'm able to do with Gimp.

I've had friends asking me to make logos for their websites, I've used my Gimp skills during my Engineering Design and Development Class at my High School to make my business cards, logos, advertisements look the best my teacher has ever seen. I even used it to make a custom User Interface for World of Warcraft (Which looks badass I might add) It is my thanks to Curly who got me into Graphic Design, and to Chyo for pushing me because I'm 90% sure I'm going to minor in it at college and even if I don't I find it a great way for me to relax and it's become a hobby of mine over the years.

This will probably be one of the last times I post here because unfortunately this place is dead and I've moved on. Although I thought we should do this place the justice it deserves and give it one last meaningful thread. So thank you Mush, Curly, David, and the rest of nWarriors for helping me grow.

I was also a young idiot when I discovered webforums. In sixth grade I found the Nintendo forums, and accumulated a couple thousand posts within a couple months. I urged my best friend Faulkner/Linus to join, and after much hesitation he did. Before long he stopped going there altogether, because he had found an awesome webforum called DSWarriors. I was afraid of trying new things so I never went there, but in time I had also written off NSider as a rather boring place. For a couple years I was without a 'home' on the Internet, so to speak.

Then, in December of my freshman year at high school, I was over at Linus's house when I saw nWarriors on his computer screen. I registered right away when I got home. I was a seriously active user, and at least as it seems to me, I was a valued member by all. Even Admiral likes me because I helped him a ton with physics homework.

In time, nWarriors fell. Late '09, I believe, pretty much everyone had stopped posting. I still refreshed the index page obsessively for a while, but after a couple months I had given up. I was once again without a webforum to frequent. The most I had was Facebook, and Facebook sucks.

Then in March, a new friend I made told me about a new webforum called Emageht. He brought me there, and it became my new nWarriors. I saw an opportunity to bring the nW folk together at Emageht, and made a thread here for people to get on Emageht, but only Solash followed me. Linus had earlier been invited by my same inviter, and I managed to get Weggles onto Emageht after finding him on Waffles. (An Emageht admin's name is Wigglez; much lulz ensued.)

I still came back to nW every once in a while after being brought to Emageht, but I don't think I will any more. This thread is a fitting end. Thank you all for the good times.

Hey Impasse, gimme an invite...hopefully you read this thread xD.

I wasn't gonna reply to this thread at first, but I began reminiscing more about the place. It's astounding to think five years ago, I found NW...and was merely just a noob. NW was a HUGE part of my life-- a huge part of my teenage years, at the very least. As they say, though, all good things come to an end.

I was first recruited here by DSFAN#1 (if any of you remember him) who had his own forum at the time. Many of the former users actually came from his forum; incidentally, many of us also became close friends. It was a good place to unwind from school and relate to those who had many things in common with us. While I don't consciously feel it, I can definitely say NW defined me as the person I currently am today...or rather the people of NW did.

It's kind of like watching an old friend die, but it's peaceful knowing it'll go away painlessly. In my current life, I've let go of much of my life prior to being 19 years old (I'm now 20, holy shit I'm old...) and it only makes sense to let NW/BK go as well. In a way this is the transition phase for many of us. Some of us will continue foruming (I wish I had a new forum to visit, hence the request for the invite, Impasse xD), while others will start new lives. I hope to do both.

So anyways, that's about all I had to say about it all. Au revoir mes amis.

IAS, the ol' DSW brought us to greater things. By greater things, I mean a forum that not only has members, but has a family that knows and "virtually" loves each other. I mean a place where we can always come to if we need to blow some steam, meet new people or solve any boredom. I mean something special, something that helped each one of us through our difficult and socially awkward adolescence. I speak of course, of porn... I mean, the NW. I get confused when I look through all your dirty, inappropriate, sex-driven, awesome posts. I really must thank this place, no, not even this place because it's all you guys and (few) gals who made it what it is. From the plungers to the furious debates, this place was awesome and helped me more than any of you will ever know. I joined the forums because I had trouble finding my own friends and I was always too shy to talk to people. However, after showing my awesomeness on the internet and being accepted by so many great people, I finally came out of my shell and spread my awesome, lame and dry humor with everyone I meet. And lo and behold, everyone loves me. I will never forget what everyone here did for me, even my arch nemesis Weggles played a role. ;) With this place's help, I grew up and became the man I am now and you guys should all feel good because you helped shape a pretty darn awesome individual.

Thanks for everything,

Subway a.k.a. Spry a.k.a Corwin

P.S. To keep in touch, add me on live (GT: SpryO3) or on Facebook. Just be sure to include who you are because I'm not as familiar with everyone's name and face unfortunately.

holy cow.

where the crap to begin. You all know how it goes, from my ds clan of super 8-bit gamers, to waaaaaaaay back when warrior was named donkey kong, and snuck away to start dsw or some such, to when my place died and i took up destroying forums, to when i ditched ODL, to when i hopped over to dsw, to xiin, to everything.

so much shit has gone down over the past...8-ish years. just bonkers. the sneakily betraying other forums, the spamviting nintendo forums(how a few of you got here), to the podcasts, to everyone flocking when an actual girl joined, to the amazing sigs and such that alot of you folks churned out on a nearly daily basis, to the awesome quotes of other members you'd find in each others sigs(hell, we've had entire conversations in sigs before), to the funny online relationships, to the bans, unbans, and rebans, to the adding and removing of the arcade, money system, chatboxes, and random ranks, to the rants, rambles, and huge debates over what have you, to the e3 weeks with huge surges in posts, to the amazing photo edits of myself, be it looking like a shoop duh whoop or a gay man;

it was all an absolute blast. stinking CHEERS. never a dull moment. not once. you guys made it a blast to be here, and i hope i did the same.

but what to do now? i'unno. something. it's like i've said to ias a few times in the past fer months, the place has served it's purpose for the people who went there. cuz after all, this was never a huge forum, with hundreds and hundreds of active members. there's no closeness in that, not like we had. we were a family, and this place was our home on the internet. the hq, the go to place, the place you'd post the new game and system announcements as soon as you saw them, cuz you'd think, "oh man~! the guys at nw HAVE to see this~!" it was just us thinking about each other, helping each other out, in what many of us will agree was a crazy time in our lives. high school, being a teenager, many of us were awkward little wienies, but like a few said before this post, this place helped us get through it. and while some of us are still pushing through that, but we know they'll make it.

people have made countless suggestions; facebook, skype, 360, aim, every social network thats out there has been suggested.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, i'm on just about all those, lolololololololololol~!

Oh man, this topic makes me feel feelings I can't really pinpoint. Some strange mixture of sadness and nostalgia for things lost, but comfort in knowing that I'm not the only one moving on, and respect for all that these forums have done for me.

[My History]

Well, I recall I got my username at a forum called Flashstand. It used to have a cool RPG game based on your number of posts and stuff, and they had a main site that had lots of spritesheets. I used to love those things. But that shut down oh so many years ago. I recall I broke a thousand posts there, I was probably 11.

I used to cruise the NSider forums back in the day. I had a lot of posts there, but probably not nearly as many as some members here. I remember it was somewhere around 2000, but I know Ron had more xD He also joined nW the same day as me. This guy called Diddykong91 or somesuch nonsense messaged me and invited me to DSWarriors. That was the start of my internet family :3 I believe it was five years that I spent with DSW/NW perpetually open, always posting.

There were always other video game forums, but I never felt at home on any of them. I had a small stint at Outsider, and kicked ass at The ODL's arcade for a contest, but always stayed right here. Now I only use forums for news and entertainment, such as the Steam forums and Overclock.net. Though I have started posting at a tricking forum again. If you ever see "TKD Tim" or "SSJ3MarioBrothers" anywhere, it's me.

[My Life]

I have always been a reclusive, homeschooled, antisocial mess. And for many many wonderful years, I felt that I had real friends in these forums. I was always sad when older members would outgrow the forums, and never really understood, but then it came my time to outgrow them as well.

College became too important to me, causing me to spend a lot less time on the forums. And then I met a girl who gave me the confidence to make real friends, and suddenly my online friends became acquaintances, as real life acquaintances became friends.

I pretty much outgrew video games as well, and I rarely play them anymore. There was a time I would spend all day on Counter Strike or Left 4 Dead, and always had to have the latest games, but I haven't even played Bioshock 2 yet =/ I don't know what games are coming out or are must haves for any console or handheld anymore. I would never be so condescending as to say anyone "should just grow up and stop playing video games," but I now understand that video games shouldn't even be a hobby, they are just fun little time wasters or things to do with friends. And as I get older, I have less and less time to be wasting!

[From now, on]

I definitely enjoy keeping you guys around on Facebook and Aim (I don't go on MSN anymore, and also Impasse is the only one I have on AIM currently. Anyone who'd like to add me, ssj3mariobros, go for it! I'd love to chat). You guys are all characters, and rank highly among the most interesting people I've ever met. I'm somewhat sad that I don't have the time or motivation to really catch up with you all, to find out how your lives are going, and what you're up to. But if anyone wants to hear about me, just ask. And if you'd like to share, I'd love to hear all about it!

Big things (and things I think are kewl) in my life include, but are not limited to:
-Being in a serious relationship for over a year with a woman I love so much :3
-Turning 20 in February, I'm so young xP
-Graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering in May (Plus I'll already have 6 credit hours toward my graduate program at that point)
-Getting into better shape than I've ever been in, and tricking even harder and bigger than before
-Running a Parkour/Freerunning club at my college
-Getting a kickass camera that can film up to 1000 fps, should be here on Wednesday

And generally being kickass, you all know how it is.

[Random Sidenote]

Oh yeah, I'd love to meet up with anyone who's in or visiting the Orlando area at any time from now on. I have a car, and my girlfriend lives in Orlando.

I wonder if I'm still the one who's met the most nW members... I've met Admiral, IAS, and Twist. I see Mush has met at least Ron, IAS has met Warrior.... I don't think pre-existing relations count such as me and my sis, or Faulkner and Impasse, of course xP

[Goodbye]

Aaaaaanywaaaaaaays, farewell nW members. I will see you on Facebook and around. I wish you all good luck in life! I will not miss the forums, instead I shall cherish the memories they haven given me, until they fade away.

P.S. I check rad-stuff every day, srsly. Rad.

well, i started at Nsider (as did most of us)

got an invite to DSW when warrior was asking for someone to make sig addons for him

i did a LOT of graphics. a lot. i learned a lot.

interestingly enough, my interest in games (awakened by one of my friends getting a N64 for his birthday) had been satisfied by proxy by sigmaking. then i got my own gaming computer and could finally play the majority of the games that i was interested in. no need for proxy excitement, no need for sigmaking. i still retain my GIMP knowledge, however.

i'd say i'm a bigger gamer now than ever :P

NW has been a great community to grow with. i was never super super super active like some, but you guys were my home base online, where i stopped in first when i opened my browser. i'm not active on nearly as many graphics forums as i used to be, but i'm still a mod on GIMPtalk, and i'm around on kotaku.com and the penny-arcade forums. i'm also on steam, think i've got ron on my friendslist, perhaps some others. if you ever wanna talk games or graphics, hit me up :)

Note: I'm on a laptop in bed, and it's dark so if there are any spelling mistakes that's why :P.

I'd like to start off with an apology.

An apology for any time I was a jackass to any of you in the past (probably totalling in the thousands by now, I have over 2000 posts here alone).

And let's begin...

Our tale begins on the 25th of October 1990. The day the greatest man to ever walk the earth was born. That man was me.

It's weird. When my house got a (modern) computer with internet access... I didn't really care. I went to the hotwheels website and played some game and made my self a drivers license but aside from that my sister mainly used the computer. It wasn't until a fateful day when I visited my cousin and tried out Rollercoaster Tycoon that my love of computers was seeded.

I spent the early days on the internet on the nSider forums, where I basically wallowed in the shit hole that that place was. I would discuss games with people and such, but never got to "know" people. Sure there were some recognisable posters here and there, but for the most part I felt like I was shouting in a crowd.

Then the DS came out. And it had online play. Oh boy! Then Nsider banned any friend code sharing on the site. Hmm. Later I got an invite from Warrior on nsider to a new site. DSWarriors. A DS clan. My friend was in a CoD clan and that seemed cool, so I joined right away.

And we all know what happened from then on out, right?

All sorts of fun times, drama, and every thing inbetween.

There was the whole "zip" thing. Where he was suspected of being a ninja and a trial was held. Hahaha.

I'm pretty sure I left DSw/Nw at least 3 times through out it's life span.

It's crazy to think how much I changed over time at DSw/Nw.

I went from a dumb nintendo fanboy, to a microsoft fanboy to a proper gamer (IE: I play what's good regardless of what system it's on).

There are so many memories of this place. Mush's german book burning. Playing AC:WW. All the "debates" that ALL devolved into flame wars at some point. But even still I had loads of fun here.

I spent a ton of times on these forums, met a bunch of rad dudes (and a dudette), and if I could go back in time... I'd do it all again. I have some great memories of this place and it's sad to see it go, but it's clear the times have changed. People have changed. And that this was unavoidable.

This place was my "hang-out" as a teenager, and as my teenage years come to a close in a few months it kind-of makes sense in a sad way this place has to end as well. Maybe one day, a few years from now we'll all meet back up here and catch up again.

Until then, thanks for the memories DSw It's been great.

Well shit, here i am with a story to post too.

Like quite a few others, my story begins as a 12 year old nintendo fanboy prowling the nintendo forums. Im not sure, but i think it was either warrior himself or predator(??) who messaged me to check the forums out. I originally was interested due to bribery for a position in power. Im not pointing fingers, just now as a more mature self I find it hilarious that my original motive was i had been promised some authority.

Sure enough I register and get to know everyone, and im even appointed "reviewer" ahh, it wasnt the admin/mod position i hoped for but whatever, I was 12! :D While getting to know people I would write half-rate reviews that only 10-20 people would read for new video games that i purchased. Compared to a true reviewer this situation is kinda pitiful. At the time though, it was everything to me. I took it ridiculously seriously, and I really did the best job my grade 7 writing skills provided.

To be completely fair, I cant remember which comes next in my story. I either met i_am_samus or i started DSpwners. The forum i started was the equivalent of a little brother trying to smoke weed. I looked up to warrior, he had taught me alot about running Nwarriors, plus he got me super interested in web programming. So sure enough I tried to be just like him with my own forum. Haha we all know where that went, it was fun while it lasted but it lacked point. I ws just running a forum for the sake of running a forum and feeling important. I feel bad because i lost alot of loyalty to Nwarriors after this. But I can truly safely say that it was all thanks to warrior and Nwarriors that inspired me do all of that in my life though

Then there was internet drama that i dont feel like going into detail with. But reminiscing is fun! summary would be: I met a girl we internet dated, I broke up with her, regretted it. She went to someone else, I got jealous the end. But in between all that was friends with either advice or their own girl problems, and memories. Back after Metroid Prime Hunters first came out, I would go on it every night to talk to people i met on these forums and play online. It was alot of fun for 14 year old.

Haha, now im 18 i dont spend much time on forums anymore, let alone even the internet. I recently graduated high school and am going to college to get a business and aministration degree as fast as possible because my grandpa is sick and i need to replace him with our family owned business. THats a good summary of my current life. Alot less time spent online, and ill admit I do miss this place and everyone here sometimes. I learned alot from all of you, and i know the last 6 years of my life would never have been the same.

Well shit. I don't feel like I was a very active member here, like ever, but I'll post a little goodbye thing. I remember being on the Nsider forums before I realized how much they sucked ass, and getting an invite to this site. I think it was from DSfan, but I don't really remember very well. I think I was in 7th grade at the time. Now I'm 16, going into my Junior year of high school, which I think makes me one of the youngest people here.

Aside from shit-ass Nsider, I only ever went to like two Internet forums, being this and one other. I recently left the other one because half of the forum was made up of awful forced memes. Even tho I didn't post here much, it still makes me sad that it died because I felt like it was actually possible to occasionally hold intelligent discussions here, at least for a little while. Thats something rare on the Internet. Also, I really actually liked pretty much every person here. Except for like one or two douchebags who left a while ago. But yeah, you guys are cool.

Anyway, I went through a shitton of name changes, and they were all stupid. I remember being like Methane Chickens or something for a little while, but whatever. Most of the time I spent here, I was lurking, and not really posting much. The conversations were always entertaining, I just never felt like I fit in to posting on them. Anyways, I'm gonna miss lurking on you guys.

Most of you have my Facebook, but here it is anyway

P.S. fuck proofreading. I don't think any of this post even made any sense

Well I was never one for long posts, so I'll keep this brief.

This place rocked for awhile. The drama and such was dumb but entertaining. I'm especially fond of my many bannings of admiral and twist. Now I don't even own an Nintendo system, but back in the day this was the place to be. Kind of sad to see it go, but I haven't been on in forever anyways. I've kept in touch with mush mostly, and as he said we hung out last month. Which was pretty rad. But if anybody else feels like catching up, you can get me on AIM as Phinphan29 or Steam as dsgamer91. Which incidentally was my original name here 5 years ago :P Well I'm gonna be chilling down in Florida in two weeks when I start college. Which is where apparently half of you are xD So until next time NW, stay classy.

Omg, literally the second I finished reading weggles apology sentence, my computer BSOD'd xD It could not handle that.

Ron, I'm sure you're gonna be a creepy pedo and try to see my sister, but in a couple weeks I'll be in Orlando and Melbourne depending on the day. So I can meet up with you as long as it's within a reasonable drive. I think that'd be cool, contact me on AIM about it.

Even though I haven't been here in quite a long time, this site has impacted me in some of the most significant ways possible. I was only 13, about to turn 14, when I started talking up Soccerfan_07 on the original Nsiders forum. Eventually, she(this was Pricilla) led me to this site, where I became pretty close friends with DSFAN1, IAS, Pricilla, AdmiralRevenge and Swancheez(even Chiller, wherever he may be creeping now...) At first me and DSFAN shared a rivalry at MPH, where I just barely bested him in a 2 out of 3 game contest the first time we ever played. Little did I know that the rivalry would turn into a really good friendship for almost 2 years.

However, with me being friends of IAS and DSFAN and also dating Pricilla, I was involved in the internet drama here, which included more people then it really should have. It sucked, a lot of hurt and teenage angsty stuff went around, but in the end I took a lot from the experience, believe it or not. It helped me grow up a lot, showed me that I can be helpful to people when they have problems, and most of all, learned some evil facts about the nature of people :P After it all, we all kinda went our separate ways. As a matter of fact, I think IAS is the only one of us drama-induced people who stayed as a regular member.

Which reminds me: IAS, thank you so much for bringing Coloavs258 to this site. Ever since she joined, we've talked almost everyday we've been on...it's been more then 4 years. And almost a year ago today, we've been together, and we're pretty certain we will be forever. We have visited eachother and it has given us no doubts that we want to be together for the rest of our lives =D So again, thank you with all of my heart IAS. I know we still talk sometimes, as you do with Coloavs, but I thought a public thanks was in order.

As for this site...firstly, thanks to everyone who read my reviews, criticism or agreeing, I can't thank you enough. I love to write, and over these few years have gotten much better at it. Those reviews very much helped me, and while I have done reviews on other sites, it never felt the same as when I did them here. As for everyone on the site...I know I didn't get a long with everyone, but whether it was interesting debates with Weggles, rage debates with Lyrax or playing SSBB with Ron Burgundy, I had fun with everyone I came in contact with. I'm going to miss this place, the memories will live with me forever, no matter how painful some of them were. We never were a huge forum, but that was part of it's charm. Everyone knew your name =D. To everyone here, I thank you for the great community that was only what it was because of you.

I'll be at college soon, so I'll still be on the internet and game systems. I know not where everyone will be going or even is at now, but I wish all of you the best of luck! The internet is a big place, but seeing how amazing this community was, I don't doubt we will run into each other again at some point. I had a lot of fun here...I wish it was as active as it was when I joined about 4 years ago. I hope to have you added on some sort of IM/Gaming service :P

Thanks to all, and good luck in all your endeavors!

Uhhh I think I was Josh_345 back on Nintendo Warriors, I honestly haven't been relevant here for like 3-4 years, and I don't really remember my days here too well, but I'll try to give it a shot.

Uh I guess it started back in December 2005 during the time I was a faggish Nintendo fanboy, and Christ IDK somehow I wound up on DSpwners, that was all good and well, anyways I guess Dspwners merged with NW sometime in the summer of 2006. I remember getting in a lot of arguments with Mushroomboy and Kariuru about religion and God knows what, I don't think many people liked me so at the end of 2006 or something like that I left lul.

To be honest NW really hasn't changed me very much, ironically it was going to a Christian forum in searching for like minded fundies that led me to becoming an atheist, and pretty much took all my growth credit.

Bottom line..

Y'all can go to hell.
Later Amigos.

Just an fyi dude, since you don't remember much, you weren't a fundie, you were just another troll.

This thread has simply been amazing. I'll give a few others a chance to make their farewells (Tom300 I'm staring at you...) and then Mike and myself will give our summaries.
